D-Day Museum

Location
Clarence Esplanade, close to Southsea Castle.
The D-DAY MUSEUM records and commemorates 'THE LONGEST DAY' 6th June 1944 which was D-DAY and the start of OPERATION 'OVERLORD'. It also houses the famous 'OVERLORD EMBROIDERY'.
Outside the Museum are two tanks and an anti aircraft gun used during the landings and in subsequent operations:-
GUN: 3.7 inch Mk 11 Standard anti aircraft gun.
TANK: SANDGATE: Churchill Mk 6.
AMERICAN TANK: Sherman.
