The statue is beside Eastney Esplanade at the entrance to the R.M.Museum before the entrance to the car park.

To commemorate all the Royal Marines and those who
Served with them in the South Atlantic during the
Falklands War of 1982.
The statue of 'The Yomper' was made by sculptor Philip Jackson. It is modelled on a photograph of Corporal Peter Robinson yomping to 'Sapper Hill'.
