Further Information
The Memorial dedication was reported by The Times and County Journal on November 12th 1904, during what was a general celebration of the restoration of St Thomas's Church (later Portsmouth Cathedral).
 
The Memorial is of Heraldic design with a badge of the Battalion at the Centre flanked by the arms of the County and of the Borough.
 
Privates Jackson, Wrighton, French & Ford died of enteric fever whilst Lance Corporal Moody and Private Hodgkins were killed in the Barberton Railway disaster
